The Indy NXT racer, Jamie Chadwick, has taken a groundbreaking step towards promoting female participation in motorsports with the launch of ‘The Jamie Chadwick Series’. This initiative is aimed at discovering new female driving talent and supporting those who are already part of the system. Partnering with Daytona Motorsport, Chadwick is offering complimentary karting sessions for girls aged eight and over at all three venues on International Women’s Day (8 March).
The core of ‘The Jamie Chadwick Series’ lies in providing an exclusive all-female racing platform at Daytona-run venues. Participants will have the unique opportunity to be mentored by Chadwick herself, who is a member of the Williams Racing Driver Academy. Having dominated the W Series in 2019, 2021, and 2022, Chadwick is well-equipped to guide the next generation of female racers towards success.
Chadwick’s vision goes beyond the existing initiatives like the F1 Academy, which primarily focus on girls and young women already involved in racing. Instead, she is determined to identify and nurture untapped talent from the grassroots level. With only 13% of karters being female, Chadwick recognizes the urgent need to increase this number significantly to pave the way for more female drivers in elite motorsports.
Reflecting on her own journey in the sport, Chadwick emphasizes the importance of providing young girls with early exposure to karting. By offering them a pathway to explore their potential in motorsports, she hopes to inspire a new generation of female racers. Chadwick’s ultimate goal is not just to encourage girls to try the sport but also to support those who are already passionate about it and help them transform their love for racing into a promising career.
‘The Jamie Chadwick Series’ represents a beacon of hope for aspiring female drivers. By dedicating herself to cultivating talent from a young age and creating a platform for growth and development, Chadwick is breaking barriers and reshaping the landscape of motorsports. With her relentless dedication and unwavering commitment, Chadwick is laying the foundation for a brighter and more inclusive future for women in racing.
