Shocking Arrest of Former NFL Player Daniel Muir and Wife for Child Abuse

The recent arrest of former Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman Daniel Muir and his wife, Kristen Muir, has sent shockwaves through the NFL community. The arrests were made after their 14-year-old son, Bryson, who had been missing for two weeks, was found at their home in Logansport, Indiana. Indiana State Police executed a search warrant at the home, leading to the discovery of Bryson and the subsequent arrests. Daniel Muir is facing charges of domestic battery and obstruction of justice, while Kristen Muir faces a charge of obstruction of justice. Bryson is now safe and in the custody of Cass County Department of Child Services.

The arrest stemmed from a call made by Bryson’s grandmother, Cheryl Wright, who reported that her grandson was being abused. Wright stated that she took a photograph of Bryson’s injuries, which included a battered face, a black eye, and a busted lip. Bryson allegedly told his grandmother that his father, Daniel Muir, was responsible for the injuries. Wright took Bryson into her home to protect him from further harm, and when Kristen arrived to take Bryson back, Wright called the police.

Law enforcement officers attempted to contact Daniel and Kristen Muir, but they initially evaded authorities. The situation escalated when the couple backed out of a scheduled meeting with Indiana State Police, prompting the issuance of a statewide Silver Alert for Bryson. After executing a search warrant on the Muir’s property, officers found Bryson, his parents, and several other individuals associated with the extreme religious movement, Straitway Truth Ministry, where Daniel Muir is a leader.

It has been revealed that the Muir family is part of the Straitway Truth Ministry, a Hebrew Israelite group that promotes living in isolated communities. Daniel Muir purchased a property in Logansport, Indiana, in 2020, which now serves as a satellite location for the religious movement. The property, named “Straitway Goshen,” houses multiple buildings and is a gathering place for members of the religious group. Robert Mathis, a former NFL player and Colts Ring of Honor inductee, is also associated with Straitway and is known to interact with the Muir family.

Following their arrest, Daniel and Kristen Muir were detained and questioned by Indiana State Police. While other individuals at the property were also questioned, the Muirs were the only ones arrested. Daniel Muir, who played for the Indianapolis Colts from 2008 to 2011, now faces serious criminal charges related to the abuse of his son, Bryson.

The arrest of Daniel Muir and his wife, Kristen, for child abuse has raised questions about their involvement with an extreme religious group and the safety of their children. The shocking allegations of abuse and subsequent police intervention have shed light on a troubling situation that has left many in the NFL community stunned. As the legal proceedings unfold, it remains to be seen what consequences Daniel Muir and Kristen Muir will face for their actions.
