Analysis of Iron Lynx-run Lamborghini Team’s First Competitive Outing

Following their first competitive outing at the Losail International Circuit, former Formula 1 driver Kvyat emphasized the need to keep expectations in check. He acknowledged that while they may not see immediate results, it is crucial to start applying the lessons learned from this experience. Despite finishing in 14th place and being five laps off the lead, Kvyat remains optimistic about the potential for growth in future races.

The #63 Lamborghini LMDh faced certain challenges during the race, including a front-suspension issue that caused Kvyat to slow down. However, the team managed to see the chequered flag on its debut, which Kvyat viewed as a significant accomplishment. He highlighted the importance of gathering data and building a solid foundation for future improvements. Despite minor setbacks, the team’s focus on reliability paid off as they successfully completed the race.

Kvyat’s teammate, Bortolotti, described the race as an extended test session for Lamborghini. While the team faced stiff competition from other manufacturers, they were able to finish ahead of the second BMW M Hybrid V8 and the sole-surviving Peugeot 9X8. Bortolotti emphasized the importance of focusing on the positives and viewing the race as a stepping stone in their journey. He expressed satisfaction with the progress made and the valuable data collected for future races.

Looking Ahead to Future Challenges

The SC63 LMDh prototype will make its next race appearance at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March as part of Lamborghini’s parallel programme in the IMSA SportsCar Championship. Following that, the team will compete at Imola in April for their next WEC outing. With a focus on continuous learning and improvement, the Iron Lynx-run Lamborghini team remains optimistic about their future performances. Despite facing tough competition and challenges, they are committed to pushing themselves to reach new heights in the world of endurance racing.
